The following lists common conditions and their respective corrective procedures. Dr. Wong is fully trained and experienced in the following conditions.
Dry Eyes can be alleviated with a variety of artificial tears and lubricants.
Allergies can be improved with excellent eye drops.
Glaucoma can usually be treated with a variety of eye drops and lasers.
Dry macular degeneration can be helped with vitamins and dietary changes.
Wet macular degeneration can be treated with powerful drugs such as Avastin and Lucentis.
Cataract removal is still a surgical condition. We numb the eye, make a 2 millimeter incision and suck out the cloudy lens, then replace it with a new lens. No stitches are necessary to close. The procedure takes usually 15 minutes and you are home the same day. There are a number of good premium lenses that can address astigmatism and presbyopia.
Diabetes in the retina can be addressed with medical lasers and injections. Many trials are going on for diabetic macular edema and improvements are in the horizon. Most importantly, patients should keep their blood sugar and blood pressure controlled.
Facial wrinkles sometimes lend themselves to Botox Injections and fillers.
Eye lashes can become fuller with Latisse.
